My typical day

Hi, my name is George. I am three and I am going to playgroup today. I know that because Mummy has my special sunshine jumper ready for me this morning. I like wearing my sunshine jumper as mummy doesn’t mind when I get it covered in paint and glue!

Mrs Jones meets me at the door and gives me my name tag for my coat peg. When I go in the first thing I do is put my name on the board. Mummy says this is to make sure everyone knows I am here. But I just like finding my picture next to my name. Then I say goodbye to Mummy and dash off to play.

I hope they have the kitchen out today. I like playing in the kitchen and pretending to ‘cook’ my cakes with play dough. Oh good, they have the easel today, I can paint a picture for my mummy.

I like painting at the easel, I can get my hands really painty and print onto the paper.

The ladies have said I can make a biscuit today and decorate it with anything I want. I might make two, one for me and one for Mummy. I think I’d like to use the raisins and the stringy sweet things and make a smiley face.

We’ve been hatching our chicks this week. We’ve called them Charlie and Lola, George (like my name) and Peppa, Fluffy and Lucky. They were very cute but the ladies say we can’t keep them as they will grow really big and we don’t have a chicken run to keep them in.

After snack, I can go outside and play in the Den in the garden. It’s raining, but it’s ok as I brought my coat today and I can show the ladies how i can zip up my coat myself. We like the Den, we can be what ever we want to be in the den. Today we are firefighters and the den is our firestation.

Later on, I got really messy in the gloop in the messy tray – it’s fun and it feels funny in your fingers. We can write our names in the gloop, I can just do my G, which the lady says is fantastic.

I like how I can scoop and pour into cups and spoons.

It helps me when I need to spread my own butter and pour my own drinks at snack time.

I am getting tired now, so I like to curl up in the cushions in the book corner and have a snuggle with one of the toys and look at some books. Some others join me and one of the ladies reads the Shark in the park book which is our favourite. We also read some other books, and we ask questions about how the story might end and who the characters are.

It is time to go home now, and I have collected my bags and coat from my peg. We sing our goodbye song while the Mummies and Daddies are let in by the ladies. Mummy knows what I have done today as the ladies put it on the chalk board outside so I dont have to remember everything I have done this morning. I cant wait to come back.
